Your chance to shape the future of Barton St. David
We need your views to inform the Barton St. David Neighbourhood Plan. This is a legal document that Developers and Planners must take into account when considering any new developments.
Neighbourhood Plan survey
During the months of May, June and July last year we ran a survey to give everyone in the village the chance to say what their priorities for our Neighbourhood Plan. As a reminder the Neighbourhood Plan is a legal document which will enable our community to play a much stronger role in shaping the area in which we live and work. It sits alongside the local plan prepared by the local planning authority which developers and planners must take into consideration.
We received a fantastic response to the survey with over 130 completed. This gives us a robust understanding of what matters most to our community. We now know that the priorities for our Neighbourhood Plan are:
Preserving the character of the village – architecture, materials, use of space
Protecting of our local environment – open spaces, rivers, wildlife
Prioritising social / affordable housing
Prioritise smaller developments and schemes that reuse brownfield sites and old buildings
Maintaining the community spirt with clubs and facilities such as the playing fields, village hall and Barton Inn
You can find the full results of the survey below.
